To strengthen our expertise within the development of Volvo Cars user experience, we are looking for a Technical Specialist within the field of User Experience Methods.

The focus for the role is to develop and feed the organization with knowledge of UX design and evaluation methodologies. Focus is on continuous analysis and evaluation of user needs during the UX design development. Understanding users' needs globally and understanding new technologies role in UX design are additional responsibilities.

The User Experience Centre, within Product and Quality, is responsible for user studies, research, prototyping, outline strategies and directions for UX. We are organized in three groups with employees both in Gothenburg and in Copenhagen.

Decisions need to be taken with information based on real user needs. To be able to steer designs towards users' needs, increased competence is needed for qualitative, user-centered design methods. Furthermore, an understanding of new technologies and methods role in informing design is needed, such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Machine Learning (ML).

What you'll do
As a Technical Specialist - User Experience Methods you will follow relevant research within the TS area and
* provide input to new user needs and stories
* give input to UX design and evaluation methodology, e.g. give input on what information that is needed in order to design for and understand user needs on a global market
* complement findings within (big) data analytics with qualitative and quantitative understandings

* Actively support in the planning of studies, identifying new user needs and methodology development needs
* Proactively collaborate and participate in cross-functional work, e.g. commonality work, joint studies, etc.
* Be a go-to person for qualitative methods, user needs, market understanding, evaluation methodology
* Develop and maintain relations with universities through supervision of doctorate programs, thesis works, etc.
* Proactively participate in seminars, conferences and conventions

Do you fit the profile?

You have several years of documented experience within the described area. You should have the capability to interpret relevant external research, authority analyses and industrial investigations, convey, and integrate with needs in car programs. You're also experienced with relevant qualitative and quantitative methods (user experience, design, etc.); planning, execution, data analysis, data interpretation and presentation

* Minimum Master's Degree or equivalent
* PhD Degree and applied practice within relevant area would be meritorious.
* Demonstrated initiative and capability to provide technical leadership to peers and management
* Driver's licence
