The Environmental Attribute and Material Management section within the Environment & Fluid Dynamics department is a part of the Complete Vehicle organization and has the overall responsibility for the environment attribute area within Research and development. Within the responsibilities of the group are development of next generation environmental strategy, ensuring legal compliance and assessing environmental impact and setting requirements cross programs and advanced engineering projects.

In that case, this is the chance for You. As Technical Expert "Occupant health effects" you have the opportunity to be part of setting the boundaries for a new field. This position will continue to put the customer in focus and developing our knowledge about the potential occupant health effects with an initial focus on Clean Zone and Interior Air Quality to strengthen Volvo Cars health agenda.



Main responsibilities
* Create and develop the long-term goals.
* Establishment and primary development of the Health related product requirements within Volvo Cars.
* Primary develop the Interior Air Quality Center for rating and physical/virtual verification within the Environment and Fluid Dynamics Center.
* Act as company Environment representative in matters concerning Clean Zone.
* Lead and develop external cooperation to strengthen the area.
* Creation and maintenance of a long-term strategy and Technical Insight (TI) including alignment within the company. Supporting the Environmental Strategy and Core Value Statement for Environment.
* Provide coaching, guidance and education to technical and management personnel throughout the company.
* Conduct independent research and investigations.
* Represent the company at internal and external technical meetings and in working groups.
* Facilitate technical interchange across the company and in appropriate networks.
* Give strategic input to the annual development process with regard to Advanced Engineering projects.
* Establish and lead a cross functional working group.

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent
* Environment experience from different projects during the past 15 years
* Experience from the Automotive industry
* Deep all-round understanding of air quality, particle and material matters especially in interior design
* Large network of relevant contacts within automotive industry and relevant academic networks
* Knowledge of simulation and relevant measurement methods
* Driving licence
* Experience of Project development
* Project leading experience is meritorious
* Experience of product development is meritorious
* Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing

Personal qualities
* Great managerial and communication skills

* High-level of self-drive and energy
* A team player with good communication and cooperation skills
* Have a holistic view as well as good sense for details
* Very good analytical capability and logical thinking
* Ability to encourage others
* Have a genuine interest in cars
