We are looking for a technical purchaser for one of our major customer. If you have a background in purchasing and a strategic mind apply for this position straight away.
Work discription:
Within the Aftermarket European Purchasing team, the buyer for brake discs, drums, brake hubs will be responsible for the complete purchasing activities for Europe: i.e. means sourcing, project and operation work for a segment with strategic importance for Aftermarket *Support development of purchasing segment strategies, negotiate contracts and manage the supplier relationship, sourcing and resourcing of unique Aftermarket parts *The buyer work in close cooperation with Trucks Sales and Marketing (TSM) and Global Trucks Operations (GTO) *Ensure collaboration with sourcing and operation purchasing *The position reports functionally to the GCM- Global Commodity Manager Responsibilities: Develop expertise within the segment (market, suppliers, competition, technologies, projects...) *Contribute to global segment strategies development and ensure implementation *Manage the supplier relationships and performance (quality, delivery and cost) *Perform the activities required for the portfolio: e.g. negotiations, project implementation, optimize the total cost (Quality, logistics, engineering, manufacturing, etc.) *Run sourcing and resourcing activities to support brand profitability and challenge the competition within the segment e.g. sourcing within new projects and supplier switches *Secure uptime and availability for customers *Deliver the defined KPI:s on time and in accordance with set targets *Prepare, coordinate and drive supplier management meetings *Work in accordance with the Volvo GTO Aftermarket processes, the Volvo Way, and the GTO Purchasing foundation.
Personal skills:
University degree in Business, Engineering or related field (extensive experience and strong performance can substitute for lack of a diploma) *Preferably min. 3 years of purchasing experience *Fluent in English Skills *Structured with analytical and logical mind-set *Strong in both written and verbal communication *Personal inner drive to improve *Result oriented with strong delivery capability *Ability to manage the portfolio in an independent manner *Business and customer focus with holistic view *Positive attitude *Strong team player acting with integrity and takes initiatives *Ability to build and maintain trust-based and professional internal and external stakeholder relationships *Experience and interest in working with different cultures
