You will be part of Grid Automation Products (GAP) in Västerås.
We are responsible for development, marketing and sales as well as manufacturing of protection and control products for power generation, transmission and sub-transmission network applications. The unit's product offer includes IEDs in the Relion 670/650 series. The unit also offers services, for example education that enables the customers to obtain maximal benefit from their investment in ABB's protection and control solutions.

Tasks
As one of our Project Leaders for the development of HW electronics, you will be integrated in our team that locally consists of about 15 people of skilled and experienced HW-R&D staff. Within the global Grid Automation Products technology development, the group is involved with managing development and maintenance of our embedded system products' electronics and mechanics. Your tasks span over the following range of activities:

• Manage HW development projects on module level and in collaboration with Original Design Manufactures (ODM)
• Contribute to ODM selection
• Plan, track and report on scope, schedule, cost, and quality of HW modules in Steering Committees and Change Control Boards
• Carry out effort and cost estimations
• Schedule based on resource availability and task dependencies
• Analyze, document and mitigate technical and organizational risks
• Review and approve project deliverables, such as documents and baselines
• Introduce new modules to the factory in collaboration with the Operations
• department (NPI)
• Definition and implementation of project specific processes, tools and metrics
• Continuously improve the processes for development and life cycle management
• Other tasks as needed.

You will collaborate closely with the responsible HW Product Owner, HW Systems Engineers, as well as Software Developers, Test Engineers, Project Managers and many different functions that are present on-site in Västerås; from Production, to Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Controlling and HR. Requirements
You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, along with at least five years' experience in a relevant field.
You are very knowledgeable in the field of HW electronics including design, test and manufacturing. Ideally, you have hands-on experience from HW-development (digital and analog electronics, FPGA, FW). Building on this you have an interest or even a track-record in driving the entire HW-development chain from early study, concept selection, prototyping, verification and validation to new product introduction (NPI). Fluency in oral and written English is required together with the ability to work productively in a cross-functional global organization.

On a personal level, you are self-driven, result-oriented and proactive with strong communication and collaboration skills. You are skilled at coordinating distributed resources focusing their contributions and efforts timely towards the coming milestones. You enjoy working according to agile methods in a high-paced environment and can grasp the bigger picture without losing track of the essential details.
