At Volvo Buses we encourage employees with a lot of energy, engagement and who is ready to make a difference. If you would like to talk to colleagues around the world on daily basis, in a global environment and in a cross functional team where everyone is accountable and proud of the products and solutions, then we are hoping you to join our team at Software Production Preparation.
What you will do
As a Technical Preparation Engineer one of your tasks will be to develop and verify new test operations for the Prosit tool. Tests are written in a tool with pre-defined functions. Tests are verified and validated in prototype labs or in plants before released into production environment.
The work also includes the handling of operation sequence in our body builder plants as well as to review and prepare software packages for all Volvo Buses vehicles globally. Since the Prosit tool is part of the responsibility, some tasks are included regarding updates and maintenance of the Prosit tool. Another part of the work will be to give support to our internal and external colleagues with software related issues.
The work implies cross functional work between product development, service markets and the production plants to get most efficient production process. Due to the global set-up, part of the tasks is to keep an open dialogue with our colleagues in the plants and give support and correct quality problems. The work includes occasional travel to chassis and body plants around the world.
Your future team
The Software Production Preparation team has the mission to introduce products and production methods in production, in a quality assured way, with special focus on software and mechatronic systems. Our team consists of 10 engineers who work with production preparation for the embedded software. Production preparation means working between product development and the production plants.
The team is responsible for developing verification tests for our plants to be able to verify and validate the electrical system in built buses. The tool used for this (Prosit) is also part of the group's responsibility. Due to growth of mechatronic support systems in vehicles, this importance is constantly increasing. The team has daily contact with Volvo Bus's plants around the world, but also up to 30 external body builders, giving support within the software and electrical domain, so it is a truly global work environment.

Who are you?

We are a small group that needs to talk to a lot of persons in different countries. We think you have good social skills, good understanding for diverse cultures and last but not least, you are engaged in what you are doing and want to learn the things you do not manage already.
We strive for gender balance in our team as we believe that actively prioritizing a high level of diversity in our work force creates a competitive advantage. It is our people that make the difference.
Interested? We can't wait to meet you and are very much looking forward to seeing your application! Last application date is the 29th of January.

We value your data privacy and therefore do not accept applications via mail.
