As the Technical Narrative Designer, you will play a key role in developing the narrative systems that empower our team to craft emotionally impactful, cinematic stories. Your primary focus will be on driving the creation and evolution of tools and systems that support narrative development.
In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our existing narrative framework while collaborating with multiple departments, such as game design, AI and audio. Acting as a bridge between writers, quest designers, game designers, and the AI team, you will ensure seamless integration of all narrative elements within the larger game systems.
What you will do:
Lead the formalization, iteration, and implementation of narrative content and systems, ensuring their successful integration into the game.
Own the technical aspects of narrative design, including tools, branching systems, menus, and other relevant features.
Contribute to the definition and development of our narrative delivery systems and features.
Design and develop tools to facilitate the creation and implementation of meaningful narratives within our games.
Implement narrative content using proprietary game development tools.
Manage the dialogue asset pipeline and assist with script management.
Integrate dialogue, cut scenes, and in-game storytelling moments to create immersive player experiences.
Collaborate closely with Writers, Game Designers, Quest Designers, Audio, AI teams, and more to support the creation of ambitious gameplay content by scripting and choreographing narrative elements.
Implement narrative moments and dialogue in line with the vision of the Game Director, Narrative Director, and Writing team.
Who you are:
You have a strong technical background with experience in narrative systems and game design tools in the AAA space.
You can diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within game systems.
You have experience working in cross-disciplinary teams, including game design, AI, and audio.
You are familiar with tools for generating narrative content in games.
You can shift into content creation roles when needed.
