Publiceringsdatum2010-10-29Dina arbetsuppgifterAs Technical Manager you are one of the company's material technology specialists and have the overall responsibility for product development. Along with the Marketing Manager and the Production Manager you will identify customer needs and create strategies to develop the business in existing and in emerging markets. Northern Europe and the US have so far been the prioritised markets but now the company is also looking towards Asia and southern Europe. Furthermore, you will be responsible for 7-8 technicians and be part of the management team, reporting directly to the CEO.
The position entails 50-80 days of travel a year and about 20 % of your time will be spent meeting clients.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You have a degree in Materials Science and Engineering specialising in e.g. metallurgy or other relevant fields with several years of work experience. You have previously held positions such as technical manager, technical sales representative or production technician. Previous experience from a managerial role is not essential. You are fluent in both written and spoken English, Swedish is not essential.
Since Germany is a large and important market, it is very advantageous if you speak German and have knowledge of that market. Experience from companies within a similar industry as Scana Steel is also an advantage.
As a person you are an open, customer focused and creative technician with an aptitude for sales. Furthermore, you have the ability to both work independently and in a team always focusing on performing your duties with an emphasis on quality and delivering results.

Scana Steel Björneborg refines steel in an integrated chain that includes its own steelworks, heat treatment, forge with a 4,500 tonne press and several well-equipped machining units. The company's customers are dominant players in their market areas who have stringent requirements for specifications and quality.
Scana Steel Björneborg was founded more than 350 years ago, which makes it one of the group's most prestigious companies - not to mention one of the oldest ironworks in the world. The company is located in Björneborg, east of Karlstad in Sweden. The company became part of the Scana group in 1993 and has since developed and expanded its activities through significant investments and the development of new products.
As of 31 December 2008, the company had 333 employees with a turnover of 1,024 million SEK, which is an increase of 21 % from 2007.
