Volvo Car Group is now taking a strategic step to strengthen the implementation of strategies for technological leadership through the Technical Specialist Program, which purpose is to develop a strong technical workforce dedicated to innovation, product excellence and continuous improvement of core processes.
The group System Architecture and Logic Design, within the section Electrical System Architecture has the overall responsibility for the complete electrical architecture based on functional content and attributes. The electrical architecture is the base for all functionality that will be realised within the electrical system e.g. by software, electronics and electrical components. It controls and guides the detailed design in all areas for the complete electrical system. The groups' responsible also include to handle functionality and attributes requirements within different areas as powertrains, chassis control, active safety and how to connect the vehicle to off-board infrastructure.
As Technical Leader you will be responsible for the long term knowledge and development within a specific area within R&D, in this case Logical Design Elements and SW Architecture. You will keep a close contact with universities and participate in seminars and conferences outside the company. You have the opportunity to act as a mentor for diploma workers and as industrial supervisor for PhD students. As a technical expert, with competence, vision and leadership, you will secure right measurement technology for R&D needs. This shall be done under consideration of vehicle functionality, attributes like start-up-time or cost, business attributes like lead time, and organisational attributes like supplier structure, available competence and resources.
Main responsibilities
• Aggregate new businesses and attributes influencing the electric system
• Have deep competence on software designs and processes during development and maintenance
• Define long-term strategies guiding the evolution of logical architectures and in particular when it comes to how software is designed and developed at Volvo Car Group and suppliers
• Develop logical architecture enabling a high degree of independence between development teams with respect to testing, integration and deployment
• Develop methodology and architecture which allowing decoupling of software from hardware, enabled by industry-wide platforms (e.g. AUTOSAR, GENIVI, etc.)
Required qualifications
• Minimum M.Sc. or equivalent
• 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge in SW-construction as well as practical knowledge on complete car and concept development
• Deep knowledge in the joint operation between SW and HW
• Documented experience from electrical architecture and distributed system within the automotive industry
• Experience in logical architecture, object oriented methodology and modeling will be meritorious
• Knowledge and experience in UML. Tools as Rhapsody or Rational Rose will be meritorious
• Knowledge and experience in Autosar, System Safety will be qualifying
