Technical Leader - Vehicle Motion Control

Body control, stability, consistent and predictable vehicle behavior will be a key contributor giving the driver a premium driving experience and "fun to drive" experience. Using every Mechatronic chassis component and system to their maximum is an absolute necessity in order to be competitive. Our ability to develop and implement control strategies for Vehicle Motion will be the key factor to success.

As Technical Leader for Vehicle Motion Control you will have a senior position in the Volvo Car Technical Specialist Program with responsibility for defining and leading the Vehicle Motion Control area. You will be a member of the Chassis Development, Vehicle Dynamics Functions team and report directly to Senior Manager for Vehicle Dynamics Functions.

Main responsibilities

• Develop technology and control strategies for Vehicle Motion, including processes and tools
• On annual basis, deliver documents, reports, technical cycle plans etc within the area
• Secure Technology readiness by initiating and supervise Advanced engineering and EU projects
• Secure Processes, Methods and Tools readiness by initiating and supervise Operational Development Projects
• On request advice line and project management in technical matters from point of view "What's best for Volvo Cars"
• Support quality assurance and fault tracing activities
• Secure succession by proactively provide mentoring, coaching, education material etc
• Develop and maintain relations with universities through supervision of doctorate programs, thesis works etc. As well as participate in seminars, conferences and conventions
• Be a go-to person

Required qualifications

• Minimum a MSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• At Least 14 years of experience within Chassis Development and/or Vehicle Dynamics
• Extensive experience from research and innovation of technology
• Experience from representing your company in research-, program-, advisory boards etc.
• Willingness and capability to teach, coach and mentor others
