What we offer
At Volvo Cars, there is a need for a clear strategy regarding what future fuels our vehicles needs to be designed for. This is handled within our Propulsion Power System department. There is a very rapid change in the global fuels market in combination with more strict emission requirements, this creates new challenges, e.g. increased use of alternative fuels in combination with more strict emission requirements. The fuel specifications plays a major role for the complete vehicle development process and the test requirements. We are now looking for a Technical Fuel Specialist do drive, coordinate our strategy and fuel activities.
What you will do.
As a Technical Fuel Specialist, you will be the main person representing Volvo Cars Corporation in many external groups (e.g., ACEA, Alliance, SIS, CEN), involved in discussions with authorities regarding fuels and the interface to oil companies. In addition, you will serve, inform and support regarding all fuel related questions within the Volvo Cars Group as a whole.
* Deliver on annual basis a documented Vision & Strategy within fuels.
* Deliver test fuels fulfilling fuel strategy to be used in development work, certification fuels and fuels used for factory fill.
* Proactively participate in fuel seminars, conferences and conventions, as well as develop and maintain relations with universities through supervision of doctorate programs, thesis work etc.
* Support quality assurance and fault tracing activities regarding fuels.
* Support in contacts with suppliers concerning fuels.
* On request support in contacts with authorities, e.g. in legal fuel matters.
* Volvo Cars Corporation contact person with fuels, oil and additive companies.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a candidate with a deep experience in the area of the chemical influence of the combustion and emission results. Ideally, you are a person who is comfortable in social settings related to representing the company at internal and external seminars, conferences and conventions.
* Minimum a MSc. in Mechanical or Chemistry Engineering.
* Minimum 5 years recognized and demonstrated technical expertise in the fuels area.
* Experience from external research/advanced engineering performed at academy, research institute or industry.
* Deep understanding of the fuel effects on the vehicle components and combustion results.
* Demonstrated initiative and capability to provide leadership/support to peers and management within the technical area, to assure the delivery of transfer of technology and/or programs.
* Experience from planning and securing externally financed research projects.
