Join Us at Durability. We are responsible for the Durability attribute that includes requirement setting and verification. As a competence centre we provide engineering and projects with technical recommendations and knowledge. In order to secure the attribute, we also perform analysis and verification tasks, both virtually and physically, from concept phase to maintenance and running production at complete vehicle, system and component level.
The development of real-world Durable, Safe & Sustainable products derives from the understanding of customer needs and competences in strategically important technical areas. As Technical Expert, you will drive and deliver state of the art methodology to define a refined design & verification approach based on customer-centric endurance load cycles and customer expectations. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with other experts and attributes. A lot of your time will also be spent focusing on increasing organizational competency by exploration, mentoring and coaching within the area of specialty.
What you'll do
• Lead the development of strength and endurance methodology to enable teams to create well balanced design solutions that meet corporate strategic ambitions. The role delivers scientific and strategic input that addresses and resolves key technical issues as well as global surveillance, within area of expertise.
• Develop requirements based on customer field data and methods for verification including knowledge based variable safety factors.
• Define and drive the strategic knowledge building for the organisation utilizing state of the art competences, i.e. academia or institutes, within area and act as a "go to person" in expertise, where you also teach, mentor and coach colleagues and other stakeholders.
Who are you? We are looking for someone with long experience, significant knowledge and deep understanding of requirement setting, analysis of customer usage and expectations, CAE methods and physical testing. You have extensive theoretical background and expertise competence in strength and endurance (load analysis, fatigue, customer correlation) including a MSc or PhD in applied mechanics or equivalent within relevant area. It is also beneficial if you have knowledge and experience of strength and endurance assessment within automotive, as well as skills in programming, signal and statistical analysis. You are of course fluent in English, both verbal and written, and have a B driver's license.
You have very well-developed communication and presentation skills as well as a proven ability of leading and developing individuals and teams with customer focus. You are a recognized "go to"-person and proactively share experiences and knowledge to develop engineers and colleagues in all units. Last but not least, you have high integrity and an excellent analytic ability and talent to do syntheses.
