As a Technical Expert within batteries you will join the Global Battery System Team within the CX Wellbeing R&D and be positioned at our headquarter in Stockholm. The vacuum cleaner industry is experiencing a big shift towards batteries and in this role, you will be one of the key contributors to our future cordless products.
The overarching mission of the team is to make sure we have the best possible match between battery cell and application. This requires a deep understanding of individual cell properties to find the best balance between market demands and our high ambitions on quality, sustainability, performance and consumer experience.
To deliver on our mission we truly believe in cross functional efforts and the team is working closely with other areas of R&D as well as other functions such as quality, sourcing, product care, marketing and management.

Your main tasks:
• Provide deep understanding on specific cell parameters:
• Identification and quantification of relevant cell properties
• Creation of best practices (charge/discharge) and guidelines for the individual cell types
• Identification of best match between cell type and application
• Drive and participate in technical investigations that are key to meet our future needs.
• Provide battery solutions in frontloading and innovation activities.
• Perform cell and pack testing in our lab combined with following analyze of the data. Report findings to colleagues and management.
• Close cooperation with Stockholm and Shanghai R&D team and external suppliers.
• Active participation in the work with our battery technology roadmap.
• Participation in the process of approving new cells and suppliers.
• Scouting for new cells, suppliers and future technologies.
• Test method development.

Qualifications:
Who we believe you are:
• Burning interest in battery technologies.
• Technically curious with a willingness to learn more within the field and about the full technical system of the product.
• Possess a good combination of theoretical expertise (e.g. deep understanding of battery cells) with good practical abilities (e.g. improving the lab and contribute to prototype builds).
• Team player and good communicator.
• Someone who is good at getting things done.
• Outreaching approach with a will to co-operate with other functions to meet the common goal.
• Have an analytical mindset and the ability to view things from different perspectives.
Background and preferred education:
• Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering / Engineering Physics / Electrical Engineering or another relevant field.
• Relevant working experience is required. Preferably linked to batteries or battery-operated products.
• Having worked within a R&D organization with development of mass market- and consumer products.
• Ability and experience from programming.
• Experience of working in lab
