Central Tech's goal is to enable Toca Boca's game developers to make apps that build, run and deploy efficiently on modern mobile platforms (iOS/Android). Our aim is to provide great tooling and services to support best practices with a minimal amount of effort.
As the Technical Director you'll be the driving force behind the development of Central Tech Online services, Dev Ops and Toca ID (our new account service) serving millions and millions of users around the world. You'll be looking after the full product cycle for the platform and services in the Toca Boca cloud environment, from green field development to maintaining the scalability and performance.
You'll service game teams who create games that are enjoyed by millions of kids all over the world, developing new technology that takes privacy is paramount.
What you'll be doing
You'll be the one to drive the development and architecture of the online backend system, CI/CD, tooling, documentation and platform to enable the other teams to iterate quickly when building their products and services.
You'll set the structure and make plans around how to sustainably develop tech for multiple game teams. You'll build a tech road-map on what is most important to invest in for the following years as well as take an active part in recruiting the team you need to accomplish this.
Is this you?
You are an experienced technical leader who still enjoys being hands-on when needed.
You have knowledge and experience with either building large scale backend systems (serving multiple millions of users) or large scale DevOps systems and how they are built to serve the needs of developers in a gameplay team.
You're knowledgeable in architecting systems that need to follow GDPR and compliance related areas such as COPPA.
You have experience with cloud services. Whether you have used AWS, GCP or Azure doesn't matter (we use AWS).

This position is full time and based in our Stockholm office with a hybrid working model (part office, part working from home). We apply a 6 months probationary period. As we're an international company, with over 20 nationalities working here, and millions of users all over the world, you have to be fluent in English. Your application should therefore be in English.
