The department Active Safety & Autonomous Drive consists of over 400 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for all the way from research and advanced engineering to industrialization of current and future customer offers.
We are now establishing an Emerging Tech team that continuously seeks opportunities to accelerate and innovate the development of Autonomous Drive. The team mainly consists of technical experts with various focus areas as well as software developers. We are nog looking to expand the team with a Technical Designer.
What will you do?
As a Technical Designer in the Emerging Tech team, you will be engaged the department's tech scouting efforts and bring its findings on disruptive technologies and high potential partners to life/action. This involves the development and realization of demonstrators, PoC's and MVP's in the area of Autonomous Drive, together with identified internal and external partners. Your focus will be around the technology impact on customer interaction and / or customer offering. You will practice innovation from beginning to end i.e. from exploration/ideation towards concrete implementation in our future products by persistent work together with the development teams.You know more than anyone else and that true disruption does not come from the technology alone. It is about a complex and an often unforeseen combination of human behavior, societal impact, technological advancement and a new business model.
What do you need to have?
You have a background in digital product design, UX and/or UI. Experience within emerging technologies, preferably in a "start up" context, will be an asset. We believe that you have an interest and good understanding of emerging automotive, cloud computing, consumer electronics, digital, entertainment and mobile trends. Having excellent English skills (both verbally and in writing) is crucial in an international environment.
To be successful in this job, we see that you have an entrepreneurial approach and that you thrive by "thinking out of the box". We are looking for curious individuals that are continuously searching for new knowledge. We like a hands-on approach to problems, learning by doing, and we believe that you have an experimenting mindset. You start coding, soldering or hacking otherwise into solutions as soon as an idea pops up... You want to know whether an idea flies long before others even grasp it. Since your focus is around the impact of the technology, you also need to have a strong desire in developing solutions from concept to a complete product offer.
As a person, you love to be fast-paced and agile! Having worked in an agile team and being skilled in agile and scrum working methods will be beneficial. We want you to show courage and to build confidence in the role, especially in a team context - You will not be alone!
