Sirius International Insurance Corporation is a Stockholm based international reinsurer that focuses mainly on property and other short-tailed lines. The position is within the Infrastructure part of the IT-IS Department which is responsible for the IT operations for the whole company. The environment is Microsoft based (Windows, AD, SQL Server and Exchange), Citrix (XenApp/Desktop, XenServer, Provisioning and NETscaler and VMWare with a Citrix thin client solution for the whole company.
The main duties are:
Be part of a global IT infrastructure team
Take responsibility for Daily Operations cases related to SQL systems
To participate in technical DBA work (installing, monitoring, performance enhancement)
To monitor application-related processes and batch jobs
To participate in system upgrades
To create/maintain dev/test/promotion environments
To help maintain and monitor our SAN and related components
For this position we ideally expect a suitable background to be:
Excellent experience as a DBA for SQL Server based applications
Excellent knowledge of Windows Server
Good knowledge of SAN systems
Good knowledge of backup/restore products & techniques
Good knowledge of virtual machine management
Good knowledge in related technologies such as Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services and Master Data Services
The position will demand that the person work tightly with other members of the IT department to ensure high performance and availability for our systems. The IT department is centrally located in Stockholm in Spårvagnshallarna. The address to our homepage is
