The Gasoline section in the engine development department at Volvo is responsible for the development and application of all Spark ignition engines in Volvo vehicles. Within the group, "Concept and combustion systems", we develop new engine concepts with a focus on the combustion system development.We are now looking for a person that can lead the development of new concepts, integrating base engine development with combustion system development.
Work description:
In this position you will lead the development in multidisciplinary teams which requires extensive contacts with various departments within Volvo.
You will report the projects according to the Volvo development system to Volvo Powertrain Management team as well as to our partners within Ford Motor Company.
You will also have extensive contact with Swedish universities and government research funding agencies as some of the work are borderline to research.
Qualifications:
To be able to uphold this position succesfully it is essential with a solid knowledge of combustion system development and experience of engine development.
It is advantageous if you have experience of development of turbocharged engines.
You have a strong interest in, as well as a very good knowledge ofsubjects as thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and combustion physics.
Preferably you have experience as project leader.
Education:
You have at least a masters degree in engineering with some years of experience within R&D.
