What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
Saab C2S develops advanced defense and security systems for domestic and international markets. Our intuitive real-time command and control; command support; security and surveillance; and mixed reality applications are designed to adapt to today's rapidly changing defense and security challenges. We develop technology that pushes boundaries and breaks conventions to keep people and society safe.
The task of your future section - Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), is to map, secure and analyze availability and maintenance solutions for delivered systems, as well as technical publications and customer training. We work closely with the development teams of both hardware and software, and closely with the customer - Swedish and international. Thereby we get a unique understanding throughout the entire product lifecycle, from beginning to end.
Your role
The technical author and training engineer is the link between development teams, the products and the end users.
Your main task as a technical author is to ensure that our manuals and technical documentation are keeping a high quality. You work with producing new information, and updating and complete existing information in order to support the end user in handling the product. Examples of technical documentation are assembly and disassembly descriptions, fault isolation, maintenance plans and instructions (preventive and corrective), function descriptions, and spare parts catalogues.
You collect and compile information and data in an easily understood and structured way, following known documentation standards. Your main task as a training engineer is to plan and deliver customer training after producing training documents. Sometimes training is performed at Saab C2S premises in Järfälla, sometimes and Sjöstridsskolan in Karlskrona, and sometime on board. Meeting the end user is always a very enlightening experience and deepens the understanding of how our systems are being used. Preferably you teach the material you produced in the manual as a final deliver in each customer project.
As a technical author and training engineer you work closely to other functions in product development to receive, seek and/or verify the documented information. At Saab C2S you are also given the possibility to produce information for exciting products and front edge technology, among them submarines, corvettes and radar directors.
Your skills and experience
We love you to be curious! Curious to know how things work, and how to explain complex system and products in an easily understood way. You have a genuine technical interest.
You are confident in speaking and writing, in both Swedish and English.
In order to widen our view of the product and our understanding of the end user, we love for our authors and trainers to have different previous work experience.
• You have experience in teaching in, or working with electronics, mechanics, engines, systems or similar areas. * You have an education as a technical author. * You have worked as a technical operator in the military.* You have worked as a mechanic.
