The School of Science and Technology is seeking a technical assistant for a fixed-term position.

Background
The research environment Man-Technology-Environment (MTM) at School of Science and Technology, Örebro University, conducts well-established research within Biogeosphere Dynamics, Environment and Health and Ecosystem Ecology. Our environmental research strives to identify chemical threats and opportunities, providing understanding, sustainable solutions and information for society and business. We are seeking a project secretary who has a degree in biology or environmental toxicology/ecotoxicology with an interest on behavioral studies with fish. Therefore, the candidate should have experience in behavioral analysis working with fish, preferably with zebrafish. Background knowledge in analytical organic chemistry is an advantage.

Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include maintenance of aquarium systems, toxicity testing, investigating behavioral alterations in fish embryos after exposure to selected pollutants and writing scientific reports.

Qualifications
The person we are looking for has a Bachelor of Biology or equivalent and has excellent English communicative skills in writing as well as in speech. Previous professional experience within higher education, of relevance to the position, is considered an additional qualification.

Your skills should also include husbandry of laboratory animals, good experience in laboratory work and statistical analysis of scientific data.

Close attention will be paid to your personal qualities, your ability to perform duties autonomously, your interpersonal skills and ability to cooperate, as well as your ability to relate to people in a way that inspires trust and confidence.

We expect you to be flexible and open to change with the ability to assume a quality-conscious and responsible approach towards your duties.

The position is a fixed-term position for 2 month. The starting date is 01th October.
