About the position
Starbreeze Studios is looking for a Technical Artist. As a Technical Artist, you will be primarily responsible for the product to ship at product defined performance (FPS) to learn and share technical knowledge on how to do it and how not to do it. You report to the Producer in the Project organization. A TA is primarily working together with the Art Director, Art and Design teams, the Technical Director, the Lead Game Technology Programmer and the project Game Programmers.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for identifying the need for proper debugging tools and together with the Technical Director, the Lead Game Technology Programmer and the Lead Tools Programmer develops the tools needed for the game teams to efficiently debug the product during development
• Set up rules and frameworks for artists and designers
• Improving pipeline and workflows in collaboration with the Lead for the different disciplines
• Responsible for shipping the game at project defined framerate
• Responsible for setting memory budgets and following up memory reports
• Frequently share and communicate the technical aspects of art and design to the whole production team
Qualifications
• Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent in a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the game industry
• 2+ previously shipped AAA games
• Understanding of the game development process
• Understand the technology (Engine and Tools) used to develop the game
Pluses
• Experience working with FPS's
• Excellent English
