Data Enablement technology is a new area within Ingka Digital and we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team that are building the common data pipeline capabilities needed for democratizing our data.
The team is enabling the Ingka Data Marketplace in the cloud - with tools, technology and expert knowledge on data pipelines.
Data and information are one of the most important assets for Ingka - every day millions of records such as our store transactions, online orders and movement of goods flow through the IKEA ecosystem. The Data Marketplace will connect siloed data through a self-service data infrastructure that makes data highly available and easily discoverable for the entire organization who need it.
The team is a core part of the digital foundation at Ingka and the services we provide are crucial to run our business - to sell and deliver out fantastic furniture to customers across the globe.
REQUIREMENTS
We think that you love the mix of team leadership and coaching, together with setting the strategic direction and foundation for how we build data pipelines at Ingka. You are also good at managing stakeholders across the Ingka Digital organization in order to drive the area forward. We believe you are familiar with the Data Mesh concept and you have participated in setting up frameworks and standards around data, in a cloud setting, before. Our colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds and we believe that you also value the power of diversity
You are a people centric leader who love to lead, coach, and support a high performing team.
You are driven and love the opportunity to build up this area and to drive standardization in the ways of working across all digital domains of Ingka.
You know how to deliver software and devops engineering from and have good knowledge of design and architecture concepts (e.g. microservices)
You are curios and can lead engineering teams in an environment of digital transformation and constant changes to technology.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working physically and/or virtually in fully empowered and agile teams.
Together with the Service Manager, Engineers and fellow Engineering Managers you will create and promote the roadmap, ensuring the best service offering, based on the latest technologies and drive a competitive advantage for our consumers.
You will proactively enable transformation of your services and always strive for services based on a high degree of automation and self-service
You will ensure recruitment, performance, competence and career development of your team
TOGETHER AS A TEAM
We are a small team of around 10 skilled and experienced data engineers, data architects and our own agile coach, tasked to jumpstart and support data teams that start the journey of designing and building data pipelines. The team designs, develops and operates our cloud based data pipeline platform with a product management mindset.
We are quite autonomous, self-organizing and self-sufficient in many ways, which means part of our daily work is to define how we get things done together. We are based in Malmö but a mix of local and remote work is not a problem.
We are passionate about collaboration and the IKEA value of togetherness where we all work together to set the direction of the team and to deliver the best possible outcome. Anyone on our team can come with ideas on things to work on and we believe in the test and learn approach.
We value development speed and data driven feedback a lot, we are responsible for the things we build throughout the whole life-cycle, which means operations is an important part of our work.
