SCM Ventures is a Stockholm based subsidiary of Schibsted Media Group. SCM Ventures' mission is to find, experiment on, develop and export new marketplace concepts. The position is based at our centrally located Stockholm office but Schibsted is a truly global group of companies and we collaborate closely with colleagues all around the world on a daily basis.

At SCM Ventures, we work in small agile "Lean Teams" consisting of a Product Manager, a Technical Lead and a couple of developers testing and experimenting on new concepts in a lean way. As a SCM Ventures
Technical Lead you will be part of the first steps of investigating a new concept, and will be the technical expert in the business development when we are taking a concept from an idea to testing a MVP on the market. To help you build different experiments and MVPs, you will be the leader of the 2-3 other developers in the team with complementing skill sets.
The Lean Teams are cross-functional and each team is responsible for one product at a time.

• You consider yourself to be an all-around software engineer, having skills and expertise in many different areas.
• We believe you have experience from the startup world (or equivalent) where you have had roles with broad responsibilities complemented by leadership experience.
• We think you are a social person that likes to interact with people from different backgrounds and with different skills.

Since you will be the one leading the technical development in the team, you are also confident in working out a plan with others and leading the team to deliver on it.

JavaScript Git Being able to independently carry on full-stack development workflow such as:
Configuring web server stack and system stack depending on the framework used (RoR/Django)
Configuring and optimizing database
Profiling and optimizing server load
Caring about user-interface and user-experience and optimizing page load speed to achieve best results
Developing API in chosen backend framework (RoR/Django) Developing client-side business logic using chosen framework (AngularJS/ReactJS)

Bonus if you are familiar with:
Native mobile development (Android and/or iOS)
Hybrid mobile development (ReactNative, Ionic/Cordova)
Setting up virtual machines (AWS EC2, DigitalOcean etc) Configuring and maintaining DNS records
Docker
Ansible
Vagrant
