Our department, Active Safety, consist of over 400 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for all the way from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers. The department is responsible of the Product Stream, Autonomous Drive and consist of four Agile Release Trains (ART's):
* Advanced Driver Assistance System
* Protective Safety
* Vehicle Motion Control
* Autonomous Drive Function, Software & Sensor Platform
Within the product stream, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking, Driver Support and Brake system Software. We develop and integrate system and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW and sensors as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar, that build a comprehensive perception of the surroundings.
We are now looking for a team leader for our team of Machine Learning and Data Scientist engineers.
What will you do?
We are seeking a Machine Learning manager to expand the use of Machine Learning into every aspect of our product. The role involves hiring and developing applied scientists, but also working with other scientists and developers to leverage data and other sources to generate actionable insights to improve business outcomes at scale, make Volvo a better place to work and improve management practices.
You will manage the running activities of a Machine Learning and Data Science team. It will also include a close collaboration with colleagues in Sweden, US and China, as well as external networks, universities and startups/incubators/emerging tech companies.
The responsibility as a Machine Learning manager will also include setting strategical directions. We expect you to dedicate a major part of your time to hands-on-work.
What do you need to have?
To be successful in this job, we see that you have at least 4-7 years of relevant work experience. Preferably, you would like to work in an agile environment (We love agile!).
* You have a technical background with preferably hands on experience.
* You have a relevant academic background and experience i.e. PhD degree in data analysis or/and machine learning.
* You have practical and theoretical knowledge within the area of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and/or Reinforced Learning.
* You are fluent in English (spoken and written).
