Nordax Bank is a leading specialist bank in the Nordic region providing private loans and deposit accounts to about 300 000 customers in mainly Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Nordax also offers mortgages in Sweden and Norway and deposit in Germany as well as the Netherlands. Nordax employs about 300 people, all working in one office in Stockholm. The company has an entrepreneurial spirit and a flexible way of working. In November 2021, Nordax completed the acquisition of Bank Norwegian, doubling its portfolio and adding credit cards to the product repertoire.
Nordax Bank is on an existing growth journey and IT Development is close to 50 people, supporting our business with internal applications as well as end user facing. About the role
We are currently looking for a Team Manager for IT Development. In IT Development we are close to 50 colleagues. You will lead a team of seven people who are responsible for the initial processing of customer applications and a number of central applications used cross teams. You will work close to the product owner and Head of IT Development. You will deliver on your team's backlog and work alongside colleague developers, and you want to remain rooted in software development.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for team deliveries; from commercial backlog supporting business needs as well as technical work to mitigate technical dept and/or maintain a operational and high quality platform.
• Leadership and coaching of your team members.
• Drive smaller initiatives spanning cross team and domains.
• Assuring that targeted business values are achieved and that deadlines are met.
• Assuring ways of working is adhered to.
• Hands-on coding and test writing for assuring the quality of your work when developing new applications or maintaining existing ones in your team 's domain.
• Recruitment of new colleagues into the dev organization.
Your Profile
To thrive in this role, you ideally have experience working with Agile methodology as well as extensive experience of software development. You have earlier experience of formal leadership as team manager, and you enjoy the responsibility of leading others. We would appreciate your eagerness to keep learning new disciplines and methodologies, stay up to date with the community and develop best practices, as well as your willingness to teach and mentor others. You will work closely with your fellow team managers to ensure our ways of working are adhered to cross all teams. If you have strong devotion to quality, you will thrive in our work environment. The ability to speak Swedish is a plus, but not a must.
We believe you also have:
• At least 7 years of experience in software development
• Experience of formal leadership (>2 years of experience) where you have performed all significant formal activities as a manager, salary review, Annual appraisal, Set goals and coaching of team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft's development stack and development lifecycle tools - in particular, .NET and good knowledge of .NET core and C#
• Experience in working with SQL
• Fluency in English, both in written and spoken
Big pluses if you have experience in:
• Knowledge of, at least, one modern JavaScript framework
• TDD (test driven development) or similar methodologies
• CI and CD (continuous integration and continuous development)
• Experience of being Scrum Master
• Project management
• Previous experience from regulatory industries
