You will be part of Corporate Research in Västerås. We are the largest research center within ABB and have a strong competence in automation and power technologies supporting the innovation across all ABB business units. Our multicultural research center consists of approximately 250 scientists from 45 different countries.

Tasks
As manager for our User Experience team you will play a key role in ABB's journey toward a user centric global company. The industrial world is right now going through a digital revolution. As Team Manager, you will join the Automation Solutions department. We are part of a global research community and focus on technology development and research within the areas of Industrial IoT, Mechanical Systems & Mechatronics, Control, Optimization & Analytics, and User Experience. Your mission will be to lead and coach a team of ten skilled and experienced researchers and highly motivated design champions. You will ensure our further success in making sure that the next generation's automation products, systems, solutions and services have a superior user experience. Part of your work will be to lead strategically important projects within user experience and design. Furthermore, you will ensure user experience and design thinking throughout ABB, as well as provide a creative environment that enables and fosters creative thinking.
This is a highly visible role where you will act as a leader and inspirer within user experience and related research methods, as well as a communicator of our vision for the future. Lastly, as you know that a cross disciplinary way of working is a key to success, you will drive collaborations across ABB and with external collaboration partners.

Requirements
You hold at least a Master's degree in a relevant field and have several years of experience, preferably in the industry. Management and user experience or design research is highly valuable. You probably work today as a leader in a company or research institution. Fluency in English is a must, written and spoken alike, and fluency in Swedish is regarded a plus.

You are a natural leader who thrives in a role where you can coach and lead. Given your positive attitude, high drive and proactive communicative skills you have the ability to communicate the importance of user-centered design. With these attributes, you inspire your team to great performance.
