Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we're expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we're on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars' journey into the future.

What's in it for you?

In the Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform department, we work to build products that make owning a car better. We work on platforms such as Connected Car Cloud Platform, Telematics Platform and Mobile Network Access to connect our cars all over the world. With these platforms we enable other product teams to efficiently build customer applications on top.

The team is located primarily in Gothenburg and Lund, Sweden, and we also have teams in the US and in China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as M Mobility, Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft and Tradera.

We are now looking for an experienced Team Manager for our Gothenburg engineering team. You will be working with a group of skilled engineers who are currently engaged in development and roll-out of new cloud platform features.

What you'll do

You'll help the engineers on your team by removing obstacles and helping them grow. You'll contribute to agile ways of working, through technical leadership, prioritization, and close collaboration with product managers, scrum masters, other teams and executives. You are a person that have adopted a lean agile mind-set, applied a servant leadership, have good communication skills and can collaborate well with Volvo Cars internal stakeholders.

The team's tasks will span all the way from early concepts to rolling out large-scale and high-quality products. You will work with teams across the company, across the globe, across many functions, such as user experience, product management, and business development, and with external companies.

You and your skills

We are looking for experienced software engineering managers, who have previously built and led software engineering teams. You have experience in people management, cross-functional collaboration, large-scale system design, and hands-on software development. You probably have a degree in computer science/engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong people management, collaboration and communication skills - including fluency in English - are essential when working in a diverse and international setting.

If you also have experience in cloud platform and infrastructure as well as working with continuous integration and deployment with high automation degree and complete e2e verification flow, we consider it highly meritorious.
