hela Sverige In this role, you will lead as a line manager the Object Controller Systems (OCS) software development team. The team includes highly skilled software and hardware engineers developing embedded, safety critical control systems, but we think your background is mainly from the software domain.
You will also lead as project manager different product development projects with resources from your own and other teams, from idea to production. You will also be responsible for coaching and developing the team competence as well as the team's tools and methods, to constantly strive for increased quality and improved engineering efficiency.
Key Responsibilities and Challenges
As Line Manager:
Ensure personal growth and development of team members through coaching and mentoring in embedded, safety critical, railway control systems
Team resource planning, including hiring of staff and temporary work force
Performance reviews, including setting goals and follow up for each team member
Provide capacity and competence as required by EHC project portfolio related to software engineering
As Project Manager:
Full responsibility for planning, execution and delivery of development and maintenance projects in embedded, safety critical, railway control systems using resources across the line organization, but also outside of own team
Long term project planning as well as day-to-day management
Project status reporting to a steering committee, including reporting of progress, earned value, costs, issues, risks, etc.
Communication with adjacent Project Managers, Line Managers, Product Owners and other stakeholders such as safety approval bodies
Engineering degree in Mechatronics or Computer Science or a similar field
7-10 years of experience in embedded system development, preferably in a similarly complex industry (i.e. aerospace, automotive)
Your main background is from software development (including C), but you can manage integrated embedded system development with both SW and HW engineers in the team
Experience of Line Management for a team of software engineers and/or Project Management in embedded systems
English fluency is a requirement; Swedish is an advantage.
