Northvolt has an exciting role for a Team Lead pCAM. We are looking for a Cathode Expert to join our team at Northvolt in Sweden.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing industrialized cathode material for Li-ion batteries. You will work closely with the Process and Quality teams to ensure our cathode material meets the highest standards.
We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of inorganic chemistry and cathode material for Li-ion batteries. You should have a proven track record of driving large and innovative development projects in this field.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Carry out experiments to optimise the performance of Northvolt's in-house precursor and Cathode Active Material (CAM), encompassing both the chemical composition and the processing parameters used in the various manufacturing steps.
Ensure material preparation and characterization including external material benchmark. Analyse materials characterisation and electrochemical data to evaluate the performance of different CAM samples.
Ensure delivery of development progress for following-up team's objectives (e.g., milestones)
Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders
Support industrial-scale CAM manufacturing and recycling operations through targeted investigations and deep-dives.
Lead, plan and manage day to day technical task of the respective groups and allocate task and responsibility across their team members

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering /Material Engineering, or Chemistry/Physics
Demonstrated expertise and success in the development of cathode materials
At least 5 years experience cathode active materials within R&D, or in inorganic chemistry is required
Must have worked in a multi-cultural environment
Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management.
