We are looking for more talents to join our growing Optical team in Gothenburg!

Developing cutting edge technology, for the highly aggressive smartphone market, requires both technical expertise as well as agile project work. We are now seeking a Team lead for our Optical Design Team to further strengthen our work in developing future fingerprint systems for mobile phones and other portable devices.

You will contribute to our research and development efforts on novel optical fingerprint sensing concepts, with the end goal of enabling under display fingerprint sensing. We have a strong drive to bring in new technologies and radically different sensing concepts, into our product portfolio.

What will you do?

As Team lead Optical Design, you will work in close collaboration with talented and dedicated colleagues to further develop fingerprint sensing technology and bring it to the market. You will play an important role in product projects and you will divide your time between coordinating a wide range of activities, and hands-on technology development. Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Plan, coordinate and follow up the optical team activities on a daily basis
• Provide project support to the overall project manager on tasks related to optics
• Take an active part in developing new optical systems for fingerprint sensing
• Participate in product development activities bringing the technology to mass production
• Handle communication with suppliers as well as customers

In this role you are expected to encourage and inspire the team to make progress, as well as having a good understanding in optics and be well acquainted with related software tools. Your time will be divided between leading the team and hard-core technology development. The Team Lead role comprises no formal manager responsibility.

Who are you?

We believe that you have a Master or PhD in the relevant technology area, such as in electronics, physics, optics, or the equivalent. Previous experience in optical design and practical experience from leading a small team is required. Engineering seniority is favored.

• You are an encouraging leader and team player, with the ability to inspire others
• You have a positive problem-solving attitude and are open to unconventional ideas
• You are able to drive assignments independently and to self-manage priorities
• You have previous experience from both traditional and more agile project methods
• You are structured, ambitious and enjoy working in a small and entrepreneurial company
• You are fluent in English and are flexible when it comes to international traveling
• You have good knowledge in, and experience of, both classical and physical optics
• You have knowledge in, and understanding of, MATLAB programming
• Preferably you have experience in optical software tools such as OpticStudio (Zemax)
• Preferably you have experience in working with CMOS image sensors
