The Science Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Team Assistant.
Description of directorate/division
The key aim of the Science Directorate is to harness the full scientific potential of the ESS facility, by developing and operating the suite of 22 instruments, as well as supporting scientific infrastructure and nurturing a world-leading scientific environment at ESS.

The Science Directorate is divided into four divisions: Instruments, Instrument Support, Neutron Science and the Data Management and Software Centre. The Neutron Science Division supports and coordinates the neutron research by (i) Academic activities such as outreach, education, in-house science activities, research collaboration; (ii) Collaborative research with various partners and local academic networks; (iii) Industry liaison and infrastructure. Various meetings such as Science Symposia, IKON, ESS S&S are co-organized by the division. The neutron science division organizes the ESS PhD programme.

Description of main responsibilities
Principal tasks are oriented towards the relations with ESS' scientific partners:  conference and workshop organization; handling visits from academia and industry; maintaining databases of the meeting schedules (seminars, symposia, advisory panels), PhD programme, clusters, publications and contacts with partner institutes.
In close collabroation with the team assistants within the Science Directorate, tasks oriented towards the ESS workflow will be performed: handling e-mails and phone calls, organising meetings and taking minutes, preparing documents and reports, making travel arrangements, coordinating agendas.
Working hours are standard office hours, but occasionally you will need to be flexible and work evenings due to meeting arrangements.Qualifications

• Solid experience from a similar role.
• Excellent at creating and managing documents.
• Fast and accurate computer skills
• Well organised and structured. 
• Very good at identifying, gathering and presenting relevant information.
• Positive and confident person with good interpersonal skills.
• Calm and ready to adapt to a fast changing work environment.
• Experience of working in an international environment is essential.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with a six-month initial probationary period and the  work place is in Lund, Sweden.
Working hours are general office hours, but past office hours work can occur occasionally due to meetings, conferences and seminars etc. 
The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
