The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate's curricula. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) is offered to students from 16-19 years of age. The school's language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.

This fall ISSR will need a teacher to teach Mandarin in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) grades 6-9 according to the IB MYP framework. The position includes organizing and carrying out dynamic and well-crafted language lessons to the MYP students, acting as a mentor to approximately 20 students, participating in the ISSR school community and working actively to build a culture of learning through collaboration.
Responsibilities include:
• Planning high quality lessons and ongoing documentation of student achievement
• Maintaining an engaging and organized learning environment
• Mentorship for approximately 20 students
• Maintaining ongoing parent/school communication
• Participating in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
• Supervising student during breaks
• Planning with colleagues across the school
• Continued professional development
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will be:
• A university educated teacher in Mandarin with certification from either Sweden or a native English-speaking country
• Has MYP training and experience
• Has international study and work experience
• Has a high level of communication skills (parents, teacher team, students)
• Is a fluent English-speaker
• Highly competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard, HTML, and other tools for learning).
