Position Title: MYP and PYP Teacher in Swedish and English as a second language
Programme: MYP (Middle Years Programme) and PYP (Primary Years Programme)
Start Date: August 1, 2019
KIG Mission Statement
Karlskrona Internationella Grundskola (KIG) will provide a learning-focused environment that stimulates creativity and innovation so that each student develops the skills and knowledge to become internationally-minded and a lifelong learner.
Description of Position
KIG will start its education in August of 2019 and is looking to recruit a teacher in English and Swedish. KIG is a school with an IB-profile, which means that the students are studying according to an international curriculum.
The position is a full-time position. The work will consist of teaching in the subjects English and Swedish (75%) as well as working some hours with the before-and-after care of the children (25%). Depending on the number of students who apply, the teaching part might become 100 %.
The position is permanent with a trial period of six months.
Additional duties include
• Interdisciplinary Unit Planning
• Creating/Utilising varied forms of IB assessments to inform teaching and learning
• Develop and maintain a positive learning environment
• Being professional in your conduct towards students, colleagues and other stakeholders
• A commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students
Person Specification
• IB experience is ideal however, a desire to work in an IB environment is a must.
• Must have a teaching degree or similar
• Proactive team player in a new and growing IB school
• Lifelong learner and internationally-minded
