Åva gymnasium is an established IB school, having received its IB accreditation in 2001. The school is located in the municipality of Täby, 20 km north of Stockholm. We offer our 1350 students to study both at the Swedish national programs and the IB Diploma programme. With our experienced staff and welcoming atmosphere, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and diverse programme. The IB department at Åva gymnasium is looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Teacher of Mathematics starting August 2022. This is a great opportunity for a passionate teacher to become part of a well established, highly collaborative team with a lot of experience of the Diploma programme.

Who are you?

We expect you to be able to:

• develop learners' knowledge, skills and understanding in line with the IB learner profile, which aims to develop learners as inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, risk-takers, reflective and balanced individuals,
• set high expectations for all learners and to provide high quality teaching and learning environment,
• create a positive and engaging learning environment in which all students are inspired and develop a deep knowledge and understanding in Mathematics
• use digital tools. Strong IT skills are preferred; good IT skills are essential.
• be willing to take on an active mentor role to IB students



You are:

As a person you are a structured and dedicated teacher who has a positive approach to your subjects. You are a team player who is willing to contribute to the professional development of the school in mathematics. You have the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom and you can differentiate your teaching to reach different students. Your clear leadership skills in the classroom are the key to your students ' success.

We are looking for someone with relevant subject qualifications a Teaching Degree / Bachelor of Education

This is a permanent 60 % position within the IB with the possibility to an extra 40% permanent position teaching Math or Physics through Swedish in the national programs.

We offer you the opportunity to join an IB programme in the Stockholm area that has a positive teaching environment, where teachers cooperate to improve the learning environment. You will work in an international work environment as well as in a Swedish work environment.
