The British International School of Stockholm invites applications from qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who are able to teach English to IGCSE Level. The ability also to teach IGCSE drama would be an advantage, but is not essential. The successful candidate would be working in most age groups from Year 5 to Year 11 (age 10 to 16)
The position is initially to cover maternity leave and would be until June 2018. Due to the school's continued expansion, there is a strong possibility that a permanent position would become available.
Situated in Djursholm, a beautiful suburb of Stockholm, and enjoying an excellent reputation, the British International School of Stockholm (BISS) is a vibrant and highly successful school of over 380 children from 40 different countries. Meeting internationally recognised standards of excellence, the school is an accredited member of COBIS (the Council of British International Schools) and received an excellent recent BSO inspection report.
BISS uses the International Middle Years and Cambridge Secondary Curricula from Year 7 to Year 9 and Cambridge IGCSE courses for Years 10 and 11.
Applicants must be a fully qualified teacher (UK BEd or PGCE with relevant degree, or hold the equivalent recognised teaching qualifications from other countries), with a track record of improving and having a positive impact on children's learning. They should also have a minimum of two years experience teaching and be eligible to live and work in the EU.
