The purpose is to define high level design of software solution which implements some of the features of Bitidentify hardware solution.
To achieve similar functionality with the software running in the same processing environment sharing computing power, memory and I/O devices between trusted and untrusted applications and guarantee the same level of security is very complicated and nearly impossible to achieve.
Bitidentify software solution is designed to isolate applications running in untrusted environment and applications running in trusted environment. Each environment will have no understanding about other environment and there will be no direct data exchange between them. This functionality can be achieved by using virtualization technologies. For each environment separate instance of virtual machine will be created which will be running its own operating system with restricted access to physical devices.
The Proof of Concept for this technic exist as an Hardware Prototype.
