You will be part of ABB High Voltage Direct Current in Ludvika. We develop, manufacture and sell DC Transmission systems. The business unit HVDC is primarily operating on the global market. The technology is used to transfer electrical energy over long distances and for power transmission when using undersea cables. HVDC is also utilized to connect power systems where traditional AC solutions are not efficient as in between power grids with different frequency.
Challenge: Our common goal is to design hard- and software for control and protection systems within HVDC. Now we need you, who have the will to show the world what you can do, and by taking on a broad range of assignments, will obtain a global network. The dynamic in the position will give you the opportunity to work with everything from system design, implementation and test, to commissioning of control and protection equipment for HVDC stations throughout the world. As Systems Engineer you will get the opportunity to participate in all phases of the projects, which each one is unique and usually run between one to three years. This means that the variation will be great and that you will get the opportunity to broaden your competence, but also that doors to other technology areas will open up.
Are you ready for one of ABB's most interesting engineer positions, one that combines professional and personal development? Then you may become one of our competent coworkers, who will take on a great responsibility in a stimulating environment where we work in cross-technological project groups. Requirements: You have a Bachelor or Masters in Engineering; alternatively you are a very experienced college Engineer. Perhaps you have skills in electro technical systemization, design, PLC programming or testing? Experience from switchgear, control systems, design or manufacturing tools is also positive, as is experience of handling industrial control systems. It is likely that you have worked in the electrical power industry, where you have focused on electrical control systems. Regardless of your experience, you need to master English in writing as well as in speech. Additional language skills in e.g. French, Spanish, German or Chinese is qualifying. As a person you are a self-starter with a strong drive and the ability to take on responsibility. In short, your personality is the key to success and equally important as your professional experience.
