How will you make an impact?
The Global Systems R&D department updated the organization at the end of 2020 and the group Large Instruments was created. This group holds the overall design responsibility of our three largest in vitro test instruments, Phadia 250, Phadia 1000 and Phadia 2500/5000. Our instruments are very complex and consists of multiple moving parts, transport of fluids, environmental control etc. This is all controlled by software that is subject to continuous updates with corresponding testing and verification.

The group is now expanding, and we are looking for a Systems Test Engineer with software experience to join our team. You will be part of our R&D team working closely with our main supplier in East Asia (Japan) with system test and design. The focus will be to work with testing and interaction between the instrument controller software and the mechanical and electrical parts of the actual instruments. You will also document and report tests and investigations as well as work closely with the team responsible for requirements and specifications. You should be technically competent, have experience of low-level software, hands on testing methodology and a significant knowledge of system design from complex products.

What will you do?
This role consists of working closely with our supplier in East Asia (Japan) with upgrades and updates of our current instruments.
Plan, perform and document actual testing of new controlling software of the instruments. When required, provide feedback to developers.
Perform and support technical investigations, tests and verifications of various types.
Review and approve specifications and requirements.
Hold the overall responsibility and be the chair of our cross functional product care forum.

How will you get there?
Education
Bachelor's or Master 's degree in Software or Electrical engineering or a similar educational background.

Experience:
Several years of experience working with complex products consisting of software, mechanics and electrical interfaces, preferably with in vitro diagnostics instruments or medical devices.
System verification (planning, coordination and execution) and/or product development.
You are comfortable and have experience in leading activities from initiation to closing.
Product development, preferably of similar products.
Experience in working with products in a regulatory controlled environment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Goal-oriented with the capability to meet dynamic deadlines.
Ability to work in a global environment with multiple interfaces.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Provide timely communication on significant issues or developments.
Able to work independently under general supervision.
Excellent English skills is crucial since communication interfaces for this role are global.
