Volvo Penta is a world-leading supplier of engines and complete drive systems for marine and industrial applications. We at Project Management Office (PMO) are responsible for the complete delivery of Product development projects at Volvo Penta. Our team Quality, Operational Development & Project support is part of PMO and we are responsible for the development of the operation within DVP (Develop Product and Aftermarket Product Portfolio). We support the product development projects within specific areas and drive operational development activities.
So, what does a Systems Engineering Leader at Volvo Penta do?
You develop and you have fun. The purpose of the Systems Engineering Leader role is to develop, introduce, and ensure good systems engineering practices and tools in the Volvo Penta product development projects. The Systems Engineering Leader works together with relevant project roles within Product Planning (PPL) and Product Development (PD) (e.g. Project Managers and engineers) and other stakeholders to the product (e.g. Regulatory Affairs and Safety Compliance, specialists) to establish efficient requirements definition and verification.
You will support projects in Systems Engineering (SE) by setting up tools for new projects and coach and train project members in developing Target Description, Project Description, Requirements Specification and V&V matrix. You will support project members in performing SE activities (requirements and verification methods reuse, identification of new requirements, requirements breakdown, tracing to verification etc).
You will maintain and improve the systems engineering process and tools:
• Develop and maintain the Volvo Penta vision for Systems Engineering (SE)
• Identify and manage improvement initiatives in the SE area
• Maintain process and tool documentation
• Develop our tools & perform trainings
• SystemWeaver meta model development and view definitions
• Make corrections to Word/Excel macros in SE document templates
You also ensure change management activities when needed and you are involved in relevant networks and collaboration within Volvo Penta and within the Volvo Group.

Except your great personality, you have:
• Good knowledge in Systems Engineering principles and tools: Requirements specification, System (and requirements) breakdown, Verification management and Configuration management principles
• Microsoft Word and Excel: Good knowledge in principles and functions. VBA programming experience
• SystemWeaver: Programming experience (any language), some knowledge in XML
• Leadership and change management experience
• Good overall understanding of the business and technical understanding of Volvo Penta products as engines, drives and/or electronics is an advantage
• Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent degree
• Fluent in English as well as Swedish
