In addition, VTEC works in national and international research programs together with academia, research institutes and other companies.
The department of Humans, Systems and Structures (6300) consists of five groups and is now looking for persons that can strengthen the competence within the group Vehicle solutions and transport analysis (6350). The group consists of 20 engineers and performs development and applied research on how Volvo products can operate safely and efficiently in the transport system.
Our mission is to secure strategic technologies, innovations and competences for the Volvo group business areas.
Our targets are sustainable vehicle solutions, safe and efficient transport solutions, safety factors and human behavior and transport and traffic analysis.
Position Description
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to strengthen our team.
You will join our multinational team of research and development engineers focusing on the development of safe and efficient transport solutions for the commercial transport industry.
You will work with visualisation and simulation, focusing on development of our driving simulator. You will have opportunity to lead research and development projects and work in an international environment in the forefront of automotive research.
Experience and qualifications:
You have a masters degree in Computer Science or similar You also have several years of C++ programming experience
You have a technical background in one of more of the following areas:
Computer graphics
Software development and Operating systems: Primarily Linux, but also Windows
Software engineering skills using methods like UML
3D-modelling skills in tools such as 3D Studio Max, or similar
In addition, it is considered an advantage if you are familiar with modeling and simulation of vehicle dynamics using Matlab/Simulink. Some skill in graphics design tools such as, Adobe Flash and Adobe Premiere is also useful.
As a person you are driven, innovative and you have a passion for problem solving. You are open-minded and outgoing. You enjoy team work and can take advantage of a multi-disciplinary research environment. At the same time you are able to work independently and drive development on your own. You most likely have a genuine interest in the automotive industry.

Location:
This position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. Occasional travel.
