Working at Saab
Saab’s operations cover a large geographical area and many high-technology products and services. This gives you as employee unique opportunities to develop and grow within the group. We are also aware of the fact that all of us have a life outside the workplace and here at Saab we have a positive attitude to every individual’s need for balance in life. We are proud of being a company of choice; something that all our employees contribute to.
Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and solutions ranging from military defence to civil security. Saab has operations and employees on all continents and constantly develops, adopts and improves new technology to meet customers’ changing needs. Saab has about 12,000 employees. Annual sales are EUR 2,5 billion. Research and development corresponds to about 20 percent of annual sales.
Your workplace
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The Ground Support Systems department is responsible for ground support systems for systems such as Gripen, Neuron, Skeldar and Helicopter 14. The department's duties are to perform technical studies, development assignments and support the business area's products that are in service. The department is responsible for R&D, monitoring technology and long-term development planning within ground support systems.
The unit Tactical Support Systems Development is responsible for developing MSS (Mission Support System), which is for example used by pilots performing tactical planning and evaluation of missions. Our unit consists of systems and software experts and agile methodology is practiced during software development.
Your position
We are now reinforcing our test team to assure continued continuity and quality in our system. The test team works agilely and is responsible for providing prompt feedback to our developers. The test team is also responsible for integration-testing of the entire system for deliveries, as well as further developing test methodology and supporting test data.
As a part of the test team, you will participate in developing test cases and testing the product. You will be a part of a team of about 5–6 persons where you will have considerable opportunities to influence how the team works. From a longer perspective, there are opportunities to take greater responsibility, to lead testing work in the group and to be a driving force in refining our test methodology.
Your qualifications
You are a certified engineer, graduate engineer or equivalent with some years of experience, preferably with the focus on system development. You communicate well in English, both when writing and speaking. The position involves work that includes military classified information, and Swedish citizenship is a requirement.
You are innovative, meticulous and dedicated, and like being an important part of a larger whole. Because you will have many contact interfaces within the project and in certain cases even with users, your social skills are very important.
You are interested in testing, and knowledge and experience of various test methods is beneficial. A certain amount of development experience is desirable and preferably in C++. Knowledge of aviation is also a plus.
