Your future challenge
You will work through the whole lifecycle of an avionics (aircraft electronics) development project from system architectures and cost quotation in the proposal phase, over detailed design attributing requirements and design principles that meet the safety requirements to different blocks of SW, HW and mechanics in development projects, to development of high level applications and finally to verification and qualification of the system with the customer and towards the certifying authority. You, as a systems engineer, will be expected to guide others in their technical work and to co-ordinate several other disciplines towards one common technical goal.
Todays demands
We are looking for engineers with knowledge of Systems, Software or Electronics Engineering with a Masters of Science degree (Sw. civilingenjör). We are interested both in talented young engineers and in more experienced people. You must have good communication skills, as you are expected to co-ordinate the work of others. You must have a personal drive to achieve agreed goals and the capability to plan your work yourself. You will also be expected to represent Saab in meetings and co-operations with our customers, both in Swedish and English.

Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world's premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
At Saab EDS in Jönköping Sweden, we develop, produce and qualify, safety and mission critical electronics, software and mechanics. We operate both on equipment and system level, to military and commercial aircraft manufacturers on the international market.
The systems engineering group consists of 12 engineers that serve several development projects with the core competence in systems engineering of real time software based electronic systems, ranging from Flight Control to Mission systems.
One of our systems engineers is moving on to another position and we need to replace him.
