We are expanding and looking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer in the area of CBRN, protection against chemical, ionizing and biological threats, for our submarines. Are you a person skilled within this field, eagerly searches for information and have the skills to simplify complex technical information into understandable requirements and a robust system, then we believe this is a role for you!

Your role

Your mission is to enhance our ability to develop and design our system for CBRN protection and evolve towards a specialist role. You will independently work with obtaining information and strive for external cooperation's within the area of chemical and biological warfare and ionizing radiation. You will transform the information you get into a system that protects the crew onboard our submarines. Since you are multifaceted in your technical knowledge, you have no problem also handle other kinds of closely related systems, such as the Gas monitoring system.


You will be the spider in the web with full support from interdisciplinary specialists, starting with a blank paper, creating the system architecture from the requirement and function analysis, refine and follow the system throughout the whole Systems Engineering process and in the end verify the functionality onboard the submarine. You will be involved in several different projects and products and at times, you will need to handle several ongoing tasks at the same time.


The main tasks are:

* Develop and ensure functionality for CBRN systems onboard submarine
* Analyze requirements
* Define system
* Handle stakeholders internally and externally
* Interdisciplinary interactions, as specialists in signature, structure, maintenance etc.
* Be part of the procurement process
* Perform system tests and verification onboard submarines


The position requires some travel during test and commissioning phase of the project.



Your profile

We are looking for a problem solver who can balance deep theoretical knowledge with practical matters with user interface and troubleshooting onboard. To understand the basics of the components in the CBRN system we believe you have a broad mechanical knowledge and an interest in chemistry and physics. You are interested in solving complex problems with simple methods and are able to handle influences from internal and external stakeholders without losing eye on the delivery. To succeed in this role you need the ability of self-leadership and great communicative skills.



Required skills:

* Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal
* Communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written


Desired skills:

* Experience from this field of expertise from the military, home defense or from the university.
* Knowledge in Systems Engineering processes
* Knowledge in procurement interactions
* Having worked with complex projects
* Experience in commissioning and verification tests
* Ability to handle CBRN instruments and equipment


This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.



What you will be a part of

You will be part of the section "Environment and Water System" where we develop about 30 systems like Air purification and monitoring, ventilation, cooling water, fire extinguishing and sanity systems. Our team consist of approx. 15 highly skilled mechanical engineers, a helpful bunch of people who like to have fun at work and who are looking forward to welcoming you to the section!
