What you will be a part of
Saab Kockums provides design, construction and in-service support for advanced naval systems such as surface combatants and submarines to the Swedish Armed Forces and other customers worldwide. Our product portfolio consist of the air-independent Stirling system, mine countermeasure systems and submarine rescue systems amongst other. Saab Kockums operate in Karlskrona, Malmö, Muskö, Järfälla and Singapore.

Working in the area of Combat and Sensor system for naval vessels is truly a multi-disciplinary role giving you a vast knowledge about naval surface ships and submarines. Our successful team participates in purchasing, negotiations, support designers, test and verification and program management. We work close in a triple helix of customer, platform engineering and sub-contractors, optimizing combat and sensor capability.
You will be part of a team of plus 25 persons located in Malmö and Karlskrona and report to Head of Section Combat & Sensor. The position is placed at our centrally located office at "Dockan" in Malmö.




Your role
You will complement the sections capability within Combat System Integration (CSI) with special skills within Computer Network Architecture and implementation of interfaces. A Combat System of a naval vessel consist of several computerized systems, provided by different suppliers, that need to provide and receive data in order to perform in an efficient way. The role involves coordinating all stakeholders to follow the established interface requirements. You will be involved to participate, manage interface workshops, and interface testing.
This is a dynamic role where tasks will vary during the progress of the programs from marketing to final testing of the installed systems before handover to customer, a phase that may proceed for several years. Upgrades and End of Life (EOL) missions on existing vessels are also a part of the job.
The position will require travels within Sweden and Internationally depending on the program phase and requirements.

Your skills and experience
Experience as well as operational experience within military computer systems and system engineering is desirable. Experience as technical officer and proven successful leadership skills is merit. You are self driven and result-oriented with a "get the job done" attitude. Curiosity and the ability to learn new technologies is necessary for the roll. To thrive in this role, it's a must you can work together in a team as well as do independent work.
We believe that you have a solid technical education within electronics, physics, computer science or an equivalent education. Knowledge within communication systems and combat system integration is a requirement as well as proficiency in the Swedish and English language. Driving license is a merit.
