We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join an innovative technology company in Lund.
About the role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a central and leading role in developing advanced sensor systems and technical solutions with high requirements for performance, reliability, and safety. You will take a system-level perspective and ensure that hardware, software, sensors, and other subsystems work together effectively within the complete product.
You will collaborate closely with specialists in software, electronics, mechanics, optics, and testing. The role requires someone who can create structure, establish a clear technical direction, and lead cross-functional engineering activities from initial concept to a functioning and verified solution.
Your responsibilities may include:
Developing and maintaining system architectures
Defining, analyzing, and breaking down system requirements
Ensuring traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and verification
Leading and coordinating technical activities across engineering disciplines
Coordinating interfaces between hardware, software, sensors, and external systems
Planning and supporting system integration, verification, and validation
Performing technical risk assessments and system performance analyses
Collaborating with internal teams, external partners, customers, and suppliers
Communicating technical decisions and creating alignment between stakeholders
Providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams and project management
Baskunskaper
We are looking for someone who has:
A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering
Several years of experience in systems engineering or complex product development
Experience in requirements management, system architecture, and technical documentation
A strong understanding of hardware and software interaction
Experience in system integration, verification, and validation
Experience leading technical activities or cross-functional engineering teams
The ability to approach complex technical challenges in a structured manner
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English
Experience in the following areas is considered an advantage:
The automotive industry, particularly ADAS, autonomous systems, or active safety systems
Sensor-based systems, computer vision, optics, radar, lidar, or camera technology
Functional safety and standards such as ISO 26262
Model-based systems engineering and requirements management tools
The Swedish Armed Forces, defence industry, or another safety-critical and regulated environment
Product development from early concepts and prototypes through testing and industrialization

Your personal qualities are essential for succeeding in this role. We are looking for someone with a strong inner drive who takes initiative, creates momentum, and ensures that technical activities move forward. You are comfortable taking ownership and making decisions, even when the available information is incomplete or the technical challenges are complex.
You are highly communicative and able to explain complicated technical matters clearly and confidently to different audiences. You naturally build relationships and create trust with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
As a social and collaborative person, you enjoy bringing people together and creating engagement around common goals. You listen to others, welcome different perspectives, and can challenge ideas constructively when needed.
You also have the ability and confidence to lead. This does not necessarily mean formal personnel responsibility, but you should be comfortable setting direction, coordinating others, following up on progress, and helping teams make decisions. You lead through clarity, credibility, and engagement.
You combine these qualities with an analytical and solution-oriented mindset. You are pragmatic, hands-on, and motivated by turning ideas and requirements into functioning, verified products.
