Your workplace
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The Ground Support Systems department is responsible for ground support systems for systems such as Gripen, Neuron, Skeldar and Helicopter 14. The department's duties are to perform technical studies, development assignments and support the business area's products that are in service. The department is responsible for R&D, monitoring technology and long-term development planning within ground support systems.
The unit Tactical Support Systems Development is responsible for developing MSS (Mission Support System), which is for example used by pilots performing tactical planning and evaluation of missions. Our unit consists of systems and software experts and agile methodology is practiced during software development.
Your position
We are in an expansive phase and are now looking for an experienced system engineer with a burning interest in development of complex systems.
The position of system engineer in MSS is highly varying and on the long-term you will have considerable opportunities to influence your job duties. Method development, design of new functionality from contract requirements, down to software, architecture design and technical management are a few examples of possible areas. The job entails close collaboration with customers, product managers, project managers, software architects, software developers and testers.
You will obtain a broad contact network within our development organisation in Linköping and Arboga. Our users are presently in Sweden, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Thailand, and travel can thus be necessary.
Your qualifications
Appropriate background as a certified engineer, graduate engineer or equivalent with some years of experience from software and/or system development in complex systems. You communicate well in Swedish and English, both when writing and speaking. The position involves work that includes military classified information, and Swedish citizenship is a requirement. 
As far as personal qualities go, you are outgoing and keen to work with varying system development tasks. You easily communicate and cooperate with others in different constellations. You are comfortable in dealing with customers and collaborative partners during technical meetings and discussions. We would prefer that you have experience from leading others and are interested in taking part in configuring more efficient work procedures and methods.
It is beneficial if you have experience from familiarising yourself with advanced function chains and are able to understand the needs of various concerned parties. Experience from demand-driven development and agile development methods is desirable. 
It is beneficial if you are familiar and have worked with modern modelling languages, methods and concepts such as UML and MBSE. Knowledge of aviation is also a plus.
