As a Systems Designer at Star Stable, you will own system design, economy and balancing for Star Stable Online as well as exciting new projects in the works. This includes both designing and implementing new systems and redesigning preexisting "live" systems within the game. This is a new role for us and an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to have a lot of influence and freedom in helping us stay on as the #1 horse game in the world. We are very passionate about our player community so we place an extra strong emphasis on designing for fun, accessibility, and sustainability, while always considering our core values and responsibility to our audience.
As a Systems Designer at Star Stable you will:
• Work directly with our Design Director to create a vision for the overall game system, balance and economy
• Reassess existing systems and design improvements that further the overall strategic vision for the product
• Identify key drivers for player engagement, retention, sessioning and monetisation
• Design and implement new game systems to address the gap in player and business needs
• Create design documentation, but more importantly collaborate closely with other designers and a mix of team members in highly agile, cross-functional teams throughout the product life-cycle
• Define metrics to track. Collect and analyze data, report on performance, suggest and implement optimizations
We are looking for someone who:
• Has strong empathy for our target audience and belief in our mission and values
• Have minimum 4 years of experience as a game designer and about 2 years of experience as the primary designer for game system and economy
• Adept in analytical thinking; able to break down problems and identify key relationships and levers that influence the outputs
• Is willing to implement and maintain your own designs and systems
• Has exceptional communication skills and is a great collaborator and mentor, both written and verbally
• Is comfortable working in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
If you have experience with live operations and/or redesigning and re-balancing existing systems it's considered a plus!
