Your role
As a System safety engineer, you have an important role in the safe design of our submarines and surface ships. Our purpose is the protection of humans, property and environment through risk analyses and regulatory compliance for all our products. The analyses covers hardware, software, functional integration, and human aspects of safety. You will work with the system safety team as well as system engineers, designers, and interdisciplinary technologies to ensure a safe product. Your role allows you to gain a broad knowledge base about our products.
Main tasks:

Ensuring compliance with safety related regulations

Preparation of documentation showing that our products are safe to operate
You will work from either one of our centrally located and coastal offices in Malmö or Karlskrona. The work may involve some business travel, both within Sweden and abroad.

Your profile
In your role as a system safety engineer, you are good at risk assessment and you can clearly communicate these risks to various stakeholders inside and outside the company. Couple this with your thoroughness, excellent writing ability, and ability to advocate for the safety of the crew, and you are perfect for the work we do. You also have an understanding of the importance of quality's impact on safety.
Required skills:
*
Relevant engineering degree (risk/safety, mechanical, electrical, etc.) or similar, alternatively several years of experience in the safety field.

Excellent knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite
*
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
*
Knowledge of safety analysis methodology
*
Experience from naval ships/shipbuilding, defense, automotive, nuclear, oil & gas, or similar industry
*
Knowledge/experience in safety aspects or design/test of software
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
