What we offer
The ART Electrical Infrastructure offers the possibility to work with a mixture of electrical and mechanical design of the wire harnesses and the wire harness components together with electrical performance and EMC related topics for all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars.

As a System Safety Engineer, SSE, for this ART you will be part of one the largest ART 's at Volvo involving over 30 different teams with a large variety of products.

What you'll do
You will work closely with the design and analysis engineers in the ART but also with our suppliers and the system safety competence centre. You will be responsible for the system safety work done in all teams in the ART and support them in creating the correct documentation and solutions for their products.

Areas of responsibilities:
* Ensure that the VCC system safety processes and methods are used in the ART.
* Secure documentation for function and system solutions.
* Develop the System Safety Plan for the ART and ensure the annual approval.
* Support development of and verification of the system safety work products (including participating in verification reviews).
* Support with competence regarding which safety activities are needed.
* Act as the project system safety manager in accordance to ISO 26262 (functional safety manager) with regards to suppliers.
* Assess suppliers' system safety work and achievement of system safety (Joint Reviews).
* Develop the required Safety Cases for the ART.

Who you are
We see that you have complete vehicle knowledge, both electrical and mechanical. You have a several years of experience from working with harness related tasks, components or electrical design and are well versed in the harness manufacturing process. Experience from the automotive industry and harness development experience is meritorious.

You have a University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken). Good knowledge of system safety standards and VCC system safety processes are meritorious together with knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process and experience from working with automotive suppliers.
