The Transmission department task is to develop transmission solutions that transform power from the combustion engine or electric motors to the wheels.
The main components areas are manual transmission, automatic transmission, driveshaft, PTU/RDU, AWD clutch, prop shaft, gear shifters, flywheels and ERAD.

Automatic Transmission Engineering Group
This group is responsible for all automatic transmissions at Volvo Cars. The components we cover is gearboxes, gear shifters and flywheels/flex-plates cross all programs and vehicles within Volvo Cars. We are now 18 persons in this group. We are also responsible for shifter function and torque transfer function in the vehicle.
In most areas, we work together with system suppliers and we are involved from concept phase and industrialization to quality and cost reduction in running production.
The major challenges for the automatic transmission area are:
* highest efficiency for best fuel economy
* world class shifting's and NVH behavior
* optimized torque capacity and durability
* shifters with good styling, high quality impression and easy to use
Main responsibilities
* To lead the group strategic, advanced engineering and concept work
* Develop and define a balanced technical, timing and financial solution for the system area together in cross functional team within the company
* Benchmark of the system area
* You will be part of transmission department strategic group.
Required qualifications
* MSc or equivalent working experience.
* Experience of development within the automotive industry
* Knowledge of automatic transmissions is an advantage.
* Fluent in English.
* Driver's license B (car).

* Problem solver.
* Great communication skills.
* Self-managed, while being a good team player.
* Positive mindset.
