What 's in it for you?
Within Art 830 Thermal management (former Cooling system) our mission is to develop systems and components in accordance with Volvo's standards and core values, focusing on safety, design, quality and environment.
Now we have a great opportunity for you to join our team as a system responsible (SA) for BEV system.
As SA you will be responsible to develop the system in all our BEV programs from MEP1 and forward. In the agile Art 830 structure SA is located in the BEV teams that are responsible for the coolant circuit and connect all component that need cooling/heating but is also responsible for air flow requirement and heat exchanger requirement in the cooling module team.
To create a complete system, you need to combine the BEV and Cooling module team. Currently we have 2 SA responsible and the split is currently MEP1 and MEP2/3. The split and area are under discussion but will not impact the SA role, more the number of programs or what program you will work with.
You will work in a creative environment with a lot of interfaces from all arts that need cooling/heating from the front of the vehicle to rear end with eg ERAD, ADPM etc .
What will you do?
As SA you will taking part in optimizing and balancing of requirement fulfillment on system level of responsibility. Leading optimizing and balancing of requirement fulfillment on underlying system areas, while secure scalability for system area within architecture(s).
Among other things you will be responsible for requirement and function analysis, gap analysis relative to current design, benchmarking, concept generation, functional, geometry and non-geometry based, hence concept evaluation by judgment, calculation or testing.
You will secure development and optimization of decision alternatives including technology, time and cost. Documentation of decided concept including final requirements/performance, technical solution and decision.
As SA you will lead a team/cooperates with attribute leaders, CAE engineers, other SA, FO, FRR, system designers and technical experts.
The SA also has the ability and the responsibility to by himself / herself develop conceptual proposals, within and across the responsibility areas of the development units, to challenge, initiate, speed up and improve the concept development. These proposals should mainly, but not exclusively, be initiated by decided needs.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe that you have an Engineering background to start with, as well as having experience from leading position and have a good understanding of system development. Knowledge of Thermal management is a merit, however you should have an overall understanding of component connection to surrounded systems, as well as understand the change that is happening with the system when changing into electrical vehicles.
You possess knowledge and practice in Agile way of working. You need to be fluent in English, spoken and written, and have a driving license "B", valid in Sweden.
