System Project Leader

Within the unit Powertrain Installation our section, Air Induction & Power Train Mounts, operates. We are responsible for the two PSS areas: Air Induction System and Power Train Mounts System. The section consists of around 50 persons and we are divided into 3 groups, two technical groups, one for Air Induction (PSS 40) and one for Power Train Mounts (PSS 10). The third group is Project management. This position is within the Project management group.

The Project Management Group today includes 15 men and women who are leading new development project and running changes within both technical areas. The group is now looking for one new System Project Leader (SPL). As SPL, you have a central role in the section and in the project team and you will lead the project teams for each PSS areas. The projects will be manned with engineers from each PSS group handling the technical development work. Your main responsibility is to maintain the project time plans, the overall project and component cost and securing that the project deliveries are met according to the project plan. You are responsible to anchor project decisions and developments as well as report deviations, status and prognosis to the line (to the section management team) and project organization. Furthermore you ensure that investigations of new/extended content of the assignment are carried out and compiles the offers to this investigations, anchor it with the line manager present it to the project.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the project team, securing project deliveries and take corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Develop and maintain the SPL time plan. Ensure the project team is fully informed of upcoming deliveries and milestones and follow up their progress.
• Responsible to maintain piece price on system level within given frame.
• Summarize and report the project status for PSS 10/40 at project gates.
• Report project deviations to the project organization and to the line organization through the Section Technical Meeting
• Compile answers containing technical solution, timing and cost to new/changed content in the project

Required qualifications

• Master of Science or Bachelor of Science within Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Experience as a project leader, team leader or similar with the ability to engage and support the team members
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of the VCC product development process (VPDS) is meritorious
• Experience of Volvo systems KDP, TCE and amendment process with Volvo Part Concern is meritorious
